Hi all,
Lately the site has been experiencing a problem with what seems to be SPAMBOT registrations, ie what looks like a bunch of new members is actually one entity (registering from the same IP address) with a fake email address and a bio filled with spam links.
In an effort to weed out these SPAMBOTS, we need to make sure that all the genuine members have registered with a genuine email address. So, what we need all of you to do is to please make sure your profile details are up to date and that your email address is a valid one. If all members could check these details as soon as possible, that would be a great help and much appreciated!
Of course, there are other reasons why two or more members would share the same IP address - using a shared computer in a dorm or at home, for example - and that's not a problem at all. The only reason that would become a problem would be in the case of 'sockpuppeting', whether to troll or flame other members or constantly heap praise upon someone with an identical IP address. *g*
Thanks for reading, and see you all on the other side of the series finale.

Unfortunately, the need to post another 'PLAGIARISM IS WRONG' reminder has arisen.
Firstly, let me apologise to the hundreds of wonderful authors here who would never dream of copying another author's work and claiming it as their own. This is not directed at you, of course, and I'm sorry that you have to sit through yet another one of these announcements.
Here is the bottom line. If you plagiarise another author's work, you will eventually be discovered. The internet is a very small place, and lifting a story from another fandom doesn't mean you're 'safe'. YOU WILL BE DISCOVERED, SOONER OR LATER.
This site has a 'zero tolerance' policy when it comes to plagiarism, and we carefully investigate any claims that are brought to our attention. We do our very best to look out for the members' best interests, and that includes dealing with plagiarism quickly and firmly. If anyone has any concerns, please do post a comment here or email me on msgenevieve@livejournal.com.
Now, shall we get back to the fun of the reading and the writing? *g*
